Thank you for considering The Way of the Shepherd Catholic Montessori School for your children. We are committed to being the model for Catholic Montessori education throughout the region. Our unique learning environment combines a solid faith formation program through the Catholic Catechesis of the Good Shepherd with an authentic Montessori education. Our fully trained and certified Guides are passionate about helping your children grow spiritually and academically to meet their full potential. - Tour and Observe the School. Attend a school or admissions event to learn more about The Way of the Shepherd.
- Fill out an Application and submit it with the application fee. Applications will be accepted until all spaces are filled.
- Children will visit the school for an interview and observation with the child’s future Guide in order to assess: general school readiness, readiness for the Montessori educational environment, and appropriate grade level placement. Your child’s visit will be set up with their respective Guide upon completion of the proper forms and payment of application fee.
- Upon acceptance, an Enrollment Contract will be issued. Enrollment Contracts will be accepted on a rolling basis until all spaces are filled.
- Families must submit health information forms, emergency cards, and immunization updates before children begin school.
Our mission is to provide a quality Catholic Montessori education for your children while meeting the school’s fiduciary responsibilities and maintaining the financial health of the school. Tuition does not reflect the full cost of educating your child. The Board of Directors at The Way of the Shepherd makes every effort to keep tuition affordable and target additional income from fundraising efforts, annual donations, and outside contributions.

The Way of the Shepherd shares morning busing with Anoka Hennepin Independent School District 11. Any child living in District #11 is eligible to bus to The Way of the Shepherd. Generally, children are picked up with the high school bus program, change buses at a central location, and are dropped off at our school gate. Buses pick up between 6:30-7:15 AM and generally arrive at school by 7:40 AM in time for the children to get ready for our 8:00 AM start time. Only children in Kindergarten through grade 8 are eligible to ride the bus. To take advantage of this opportunity, families need to submit a bus registration form.
Because we are committed to a full seven-hour day, we are not able to offer busing after the 3:00 PM dismissal. Many families form carpools or arrange for childcare pick after school. The Way of the Shepherd also offers a small and well-managed After Care Program for families in need of childcare until 6:00 PM.
We offer a shuttle bus from South to North Campus in the morning and from North to South Campus in the afternoon to allow for a single South Campus drop-off and pick-up for our two campus families. The shuttle has been acquired at no cost to our school through the district. For this reason, there are days we are in session that this shuttle will be unavailable. We have done our best to coordinate our school year calendar with the district’s to minimize these occurrences!
School Mass is celebrated on Wednesdays at The Church of Saint Paul in Ham Lake. We ask that on Wednesdays all students (with the exception of those that utilize district busing from their homes) be dropped off at the Church of Saint Paul between 7:45 and 7:55AM. Mass will begin promptly at 8:00AM. Families and friends are welcome to attend! A bus will be available after Mass to bring students to their respective campuses to continue their school day.
The Way of the Shepherd Catholic Montessori School seeks to make its school accessible for all families. For 2019-20, we are offering after school care on a contracted basis. Please note there is no care on non-school days. The after school program runs from 3:00-6:00 PM on school days. Families may sign up for the programs anytime but will be contracted for the rest of the school year.
After school care is only provided for enrolled students at The Way of the Shepherd.
WOS after school care will be planned and supervised by Ms. Ethel Smith, a former Children’s House Guide. Each day, children in After Care will report to the Cabrini Room on South Campus after dismissal. They will enjoy their snack followed by educational and creative arts activities as well as time outdoors (weather permitting).

The Student Parent Handbook is the official policy contract families have with The Way of the Shepherd Catholic Montessori. Each policy is discussed, debated, and ultimately approved by the WOS Board of Directors. It is important that all families be familiar with the policies outlined in the handbook. The Way of the Shepherd is also responsible for following its own policies.
Montessori work is authentic learning, therefore our school supply fees reflect the practical and academic skills each child learns throughout the year. Thank you for helping us keep our classrooms fully stocked. Supply Fees for the 2019-2020 school year are:
