Molly

Adolescent Guide/Catechist

Molly Kavanaugh (Mrs. Kavanaugh) grew up in Blaine, Minnesota, and attended Epiphany Catholic School and Blaine High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in English and Remedial Reading, along with a coaching license, from Bemidji State University.

During college, Molly served as a camp counselor and program director for Catholic Youth Camp in McGregor, MN, where she discovered her gift for working with teenagers and developed a passion for praise and worship music.

Molly and her family have been part of The Way of the Shepherd community for over twenty years, and all seven of the Kavanaugh children have attended WOS. Before joining the WOS staff, Molly taught drama and speech to homeschooled teenagers at the Church of Saint Paul, served on the Faith Formation staff at the Church of the Epiphany, and worked as a catechist in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program (Levels I and II). She also spent several years in the public school system as a substitute teacher.

Molly joyfully accepted the role of Adolescent Guide when schools transitioned to online learning in the spring of 2020. She completed her AMI Montessori Adolescent Guide training and is now in her sixth year guiding the adolescents at WOS. In addition to teaching language arts, science, catechesis, and history, Molly enjoys sharing her love of the outdoors, theater, music, and sports with her students.

Outside of school, Molly enjoys spending time with her family, going on adventures, reading, and making music. WOS is blessed to have her joyful spirit and dedication to guiding young people in faith, growth, and discovery.
