The Way of the Shepherd Catholic Montessori School in Blaine, Minnesota seeks an Operation Manager (Head of School) for the 2026-2027 school year. The Operations Manager (Head of School) will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of The Way of the Shepherd Catholic Montessori School including administrative, facilities, communications, enrollment, marketing and advancement. S/he will also serve as a collaborative member of the School Leadership Team to facilitate the mission of the school. Classroom teachers (guides) report to the Director of Pedagogy.

Other requirements include:
- Be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church who is able to provide credible witness of the Catholic Faith.
- Have a deep commitment to the importance and mission of Catholic schools.
- Possess a master’s degree in Catholic school leadership or its equivalent – or in progress (preferred).
- Have three years of teaching or administrative experience in Catholic schools (preferred).
- Obtain the Certificate in Catholic School Leadership (preferred)

Elementary Guide
Position Summary: The Way of the Shepherd Catholic Montessori School is hiring a full-time Elementary Guide (teacher) for 1st-6th grades. The hiree will work in partnership with the current Assistant Guide to maintain the highest quality Elementary classroom.
Qualifications: The applicant must be a practicing Roman Catholic, faithful to the Holy Father and the Magesterium of the Church, who is activiely engaged in growing closer to Our Lord. S/he should hold a Minnesota teacher’s license and an AMI or AMS certifcation in Elementary Montessori. Knowledge of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is preferred. Candidate should love children and desire to help them in their personal character and faith development. Positive Discipline knowledge also helpful.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily operations of the learning environment and maintain the integrity of the room to ensure a clean, orderly, and attractive environment.
- Present lessons and assess children in best Montessori instructional practices.
- Continue to develop curriculum and Montessori materials to enhance and improve student learning.
- Maintain all records, reports, evaluations, assessments, and student records as required by the Head of School.
- Facilitate conferences, meetings, and communication throughout the school year with parents/guardians.
- Report and implement disciplinary actions for inappropriate behavior as noted in the school’s disciplinary policy in The Way of the Shepherd School Parent/Student Handbook.
- Understand, share, and accept the responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of the children at all times.
- Ensure Archdiocesan and licensing standards are met through the development of materials and lessons to support a safe environment for children.
- Make sure the environment is safe per the school’s risk management and emergency plans and in line with governmental and accreditation requirements.
- Work with catechists to assist in the faith formation of children.
- Schedule and coordinate specialist time with Head of School and Specialists.
- Serve as a role model for students and peers: display maturity, responsibility, flexibility, enthusiasm, and sound judgment.
- Help the Head of School supervise, train, and evaluate assistants through observation and mentorship.
- Attend weekly staff and guide meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities as required by or in consultation with the Head of School.
- Help coordinate and implement ongoing formation for parents, i.e. parent education nights, open houses, curriculum nights, etc.
- Attend and help supervise at school functions outside of the school day and/or off campus as required.
- Plan, organize, and supervise co-curricular activities and events during the school day.
- Cooperate with Operations Manager and Head of School to adhere to budget and spending guidelines.
- Assist the Head of School with recruitment efforts including the welcoming of parent and student visitors, child intake meetings and interviews, and enrollment consultation.
- Support the school’s mission, purposes, and objectives in a positive manner to parents and outside constituents.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in the area of Elementary Education or Montessori Education
- Minnesota Teaching license preferred
- Elementary Montessori Certification (AMS or AMI)
- Must complete a background check and Virtus training prior to starting
- Be a practicing Catholic

Adolescent Math Guide
Position Summary: The Way of the Shepherd Catholic Montessori School is seeking a Math Montessori Guide to teach math in our Adolescent (7th-8th Grade) environment during the 2026-2027 school year. This is a part-time position approximately 2 hours daily, 4-5 days per week.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serving as the Math Teacher for the Adolescent Environment as instructed by the Director of Pedagogy.
- Creating 3-part daily lesson plans:
- Review basic skills and supplementing as necessary
- Review and practice grade level concepts and skills using the Integrated Math program by Michael Waski from The Math Institute
- Introduce, teach and practice Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 concepts using Montessori Algebra for the Adolescent by Michael Waski from The Math Institute
- Make copies and prepare materials as needed for daily math lessons before children arrive
- Refill any necessary materials for work
- Maintain communication with Classroom Guide to discuss student needs
- Geometry – Depending on the needs of the students and the pace at which the Pre-Algebra and Algebra lessons are taught and completed, a number of weeks may remain at the end of the year. These remaining weeks are used to teach a variety of geometry lessons using Teaching Geometry to the Adolescent: A Montessori Approach.” These lessons may be selected according to the personal preference and interests of the guide and/or the students. These lessons are meant to be enriching in nature and an extension of the elementary geometry concepts that students have received prior to 7th and 8th grade.
QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant must be a practicing Roman Catholic, faithful to the Holy Father and the Magesterium of the Church, who is actively engaged in growing closer to Our Lord. Candidate should love children and desire to help them in their personal character and faith development. Positive discipline knowledge is helpful.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Strong Math proficiency
- Minnesota teaching license (grades 9-12) or previous teaching experience in an academic setting preferred
- Have an understanding of the Montessori philosophy of education. Certification from the AMI Montessori Assistants Course preferred.
- Complete/pass a background check and Archdiocesan Virtus® training (required before start date)
- Maintain professionalism in speech, dress, action, and confidentiality
- Be a practicing Roman Catholic
