It has been so good to welcome the children into the Atrium once again this week! The Atrium spaces have been so quiet all summer and this week they were quiet in a different way as the children began their new year of listening for the voice of the Good Shepherd.
First, we spoke about the Atrium space as we sat in the hallway. The returning children were able to tell the new ones that the Atrium is different from their classroom environments because “we are very quiet so we can listen for Jesus.” Then we entered the Atrium and enjoyed the Prayer Table together. Before taking a short tour of the Atrium, we unwrapped the chime that will call us to attention for important announcements.
Then the new children began work with preliminary activities: puzzles, bead stringing, lacing, and early pouring works.
And the returning children spent their time busily recalling and working with many of the Scriptural and liturgical presentations they had received in the past. It is good to be home!
