This past week we entered the Season of Lent with Ash Wednesday. Our school Mass was celebrated on our North Campus and it was so beautiful to see the children helping to lead our worship. At the end of Mass, the 2nd year children were invited to come forward, and they and the crosses they were carrying were blessed. These children have begun a time of pondering Scripture in a deeper way as some of them prepare to receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time. During their 2nd year retreat they will each decorate their cross with symbols of Scripture passages and Liturgical truths that have helped to prepare them to take this new step along the path of the Good Shepherd.
