Molly Kavanaugh grew up in Blaine, Minnesota, and attended Epiphany Catholic School and Blaine High School during her formative years. She got her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in English and remedial reading, and also earned her coaching license at Bemidji State University. During college, Molly was a camp counselor and program director for Catholic Youth Camp in McGregor, MN. It was at camp that Molly realized she was gifted with teenagers and found her love for praise and worship music.
Molly has been part of the parent community at The Way of the Shepherd for over twenty years. All seven of the Kavanaugh children have attended WOS. For twelve years, Molly taught drama and speech for the homeschooled teenagers at the Church of Saint Paul. Later, she was employed by the Church of the Epiphany’s Faith Formation staff. Eventually, Molly moved to the public school community to work as a substitute teacher. After a few years in public school, she returned to Epiphany to work as a catechist for their Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program (Levels I and II).
Molly joyfully accepted the position of Adolescent Guide when schools switched to online learning in the Spring of 2020. She was trained as a Montessori Adolescent guide through the AMI Montessori training program. She is now in her fifth year guiding the adolescents at The Way of the Shepherd Catholic Montessori School.
When away from WOS, Molly enjoys spending time with her family. She loves talking with people, going on adventures, playing sports, being on stage, reading, and making music. WOS is blessed that she shares these passions with her students.
